The Peace Practice

My best friend from college and I wanted to take a girls vacation. We wanted to leave all the stress of life, husbands, work and kids behind for about a week and just relax. I thought that going to Hawaii would be a great place to relax. I found some great prices on some Kauai vacation rentals and called my friend to ask her opinion.

When we finally decided on the perfect time to take off, and we looked through all of the Kauai vacation rentals and chose the right one for us, we booked it all. There was no turning back now and we were so excited. We made all the necessary arrangements with our families and then started packing.

We were in Hawaii for approximately five days and four nights. It was the most relaxing vacation that I have ever been on. We are thinking of making this girls get away a yearly thing. Sometimes you just have to get away from it all and have some time to yourself. I do not think that all moms realize how a little time away, can distress you and then you can go back and handle everything that life throws at you better.

I would highly recommend checking out the Kauai vacation rentals and just start thinking about how wonderful a vacation would be for you, and then decide if you want to go or not.

My best friend and I were thinking of having a contest at school to see who could come up with the best funny t shirt designs. We figured that the art department would like to be involved and I was sure that if we told everyone that the winner would receive a free t shirt then they would be more apt to turn in an entry. I knew that if my friend and I should not enter because that might be a little unfair.

The day that we announced the contest to the school, everyone was very excited. We received ten entries in the first two days that were really good. I was thinking that it might be a little tougher to judge this than what I was expecting. The best funny t shirts were some that actually made fun of some teachers in our school. I knew that our principal would not be too happy with a few of the funny t shirt designs, but I did not plan on showing him either.

We gave everyone two weeks to get their entries of their best funny t shirt into us and then we would judge them and announce the winner in our homeroom. It really looked like a girl from the art department was going to win until our English teacher turned in her design. I could not believe that a teacher wanted to get involved but she was the clear winner of the funny t shirt design contest.

The funny t shirts that I used to wear to school when I was in college came from a shop where they sold the best cheap t shirts in town. Most of my friends knew about it, because a few of us got a chance to work there during the summer. I remember helping to design some of the funny t shirts.

Designing and making the cheap t shirts was fun but it was also hard work. The back room which held the printing machine that actually put the decals onto the t shirts was dangerous and hot. There was no air conditioning in the back room either. When you were printing up funny t shirts, you wore as little as possible. It would get up to over a hundred degrees with the heat from outside and the heat from the printer working together. My buddy Jon passed out one time, but he would never admit to it.

Those were some of the greatest times I can remember from my college years. Working a rewarding job and hanging out with my friends making funny t shirts in the summer. When we get together with our families these days, we always end up telling funny stories about our jobs and the cheap t shirt we used to make.
