Tips- to keep in mind when choosing baby names.

Keep certain tips in mind while choosing baby names, as they can prove to be extremely helpful. The name of a baby should complement the surname and not seem out of place. A short name for a long surname and long name for a short surname are phonetically easier and pleasing to the ears.

Whether deciding to give a unique or odd name to the baby is entirely up to the parent. This may act as a booster or a deterrent so a lot of considerations need to be taken before taking the plunge, remember – the name remains throughout his or her life. Often a common name is a better bet, but then again it is the parent’s decision.

Celebrities are often larger than life and  when choosing male baby names and female baby names it is a good idea to choose a celebrity name which is a bit more common that Cher or Madonna (now we don’t see too many of these around).

Make sure the name and its meaning is relevant to your culture and people around you. Swastika is a common name in India but imagine it being used in Germany. If numerological calculations are an important aspect, then choose a variety of names and get them checked by a numerologist before deciding upon a select one.

Lastly make sure that phonetically it is easily pronounced and is not mispronounced, often such mispronunciations become the name that the one initially anticipated.
