Daddy is such an outdoorsman. When I was young, we would camp out in our backyard with everything complete. He had a tent. We made a camp fire. And cook our food there. (Ok, a little white lie there. Mom would bring us pizza and big marshies – he would cook the marshies there.) It was glorious. I slept in the tent. Daddy would set up his hammock under his Palm trees.
When he was still alive, it was Daddy who did the trimming and pruning. I have always wanted to learn how to do it. But Daddy wouldn’t let me. He would say, I work hard so that you don’t have to. I am blessed in terms of the financial aspect. Daddy had everything provided for me. So when he died, I promised to his grave that I would take care of what he loved best – our garden and his trees.
